You see, the ego or self taints what we experience and see all of the time, no matter what it sees, also this type of mind will remain in its own state that is deluded. On the flip side, everything will be penetrated by a mind to its core and realize life’s reality.
It’s the real seeing the truth of matters that is at the origin of searching though we involve ourselves with various aspects of spirituality. Lectures, study, clinics all may help to lead one from the path of viewing, but the risk here is when one thinks that practices, books and talks can do it. Talks, novels, and practices are restricted to surface consciousness – thought, memory, feelings, etc. – that is not direct viewing. Direct seeing occurs outside of consciousness; it is that infinitesimal split second when something hits the brain like it came out of left field, it is when the brain realizes something very deep for the first time,it’s that moment of truth when the light bulb goes away and you say to yourself,”Oh my!”
We must look no farther than that five or six feet of body that we are in. It is more fun to read books and perform practices, and these can help still your mind so you can actually take a look at your body peacefully and without bias, but it is the appearing and investigation with a definite educational mind that counts in the end. Unless you can penetrate in the delusion of your own body along with your possession of this, the world will continue to be the puppeteer which are your attachments, and the number one attachment is your body and mind.
Because our bodies are basically a huge bag of salt water, which conducts electricity very 27, the reason that we’re so vulnerable to lightning is! Our bodies are made of the parts of the planet, and it will melt in the earth, when it dies. We actually are the ground a course in miracles, rather than something living upon it.
Then there’s the brain, that which places all its psychological and physical inputs together; psychological inputs like when our eyes, ears, nose, tongue, mind contacts a sense object and records it, then mind will either be impartial to the object, reject the thing by pushing away it which lead to feelings of anger, hatred, etc., or even embrace the thing by simply attaching to it and thinking of methods to get it, which lead to feelings of love, avarice, lust, jealousy, anger, hatred, etc..
And out of all these mental inputs, such as memory and discursive thought, arises our notion of itself. It sounds more than only a human body and head, it becomes our character that we have to defend, and also a body which we have to protect. That is our constant burden of stress, and regardless of how attractive our religions portray another world, without direct insight into what the human body and mind is now, we’ll never possess the authentic freedom to let go of them, and instead be caught up in an infinite web of fear and uncertainty.
Without insight their world will be seen by one as unchanging from what it is now if it will go on indefinitely, and consider any stress in their lives just until they get things straightened out. They will also insist that mind and this human body is theirs, they a re behind it all as a single spirit of some kind that is indestructible.
It will be seen by Authentic insight differently. There is only a presence that changes moment to moment, no personal world, and is under stress without let up. There’s no owner of this psycho-physical happenings; it had been created, will grow into elements, no different from all other bodies in the physical, materiel universe.
